These long Mitsuro earrings remind me of curling ribbons or the arc of a wave just before it reaches the shore. Their sculptural lines create beautiful movement as they hang.
They do have a noticeable weight. I personally love the substantial feel of them, but if you are sensitive to heavier earrings these may not be the best choice for everyday wear.
Each pair is created using Mitsuro Hikime, an ancient Japanese wax art form with origins more than 1,300 years ago. In this process, specially prepared wax is warmed and stretched by hand, allowing organic striations and flowing forms to emerge before the piece is cast in metal. The result is jewelry that echoes the natural movement of water, wind, and stone.
