The inspiration for this piece came while taking a walk with a dear friend in the Redwood forest. We were discussing inspiration. We looked up into the trees and lazily in the breeze a small iridescent black feather slowly circled down to the ground. I brought it home, scanned it into her art app and we created a line drawing that became this enamel piece. Like magic!! Painstakingly slow magic ☺️
This piece is one-of-a kind and hand fabricated using the enameling technique of cloisonné. Many layers of Japanese enamel are applied onto patterned fine silver and fired over and over as each layer is added to create scenes with beautiful depth and dimension. The finished piece is then set like a gemstone in a sterling setting.
Pendant measures 2.5 x 1.3 inches
Chain is 16 inches and has an adjustable section so it can be worn anywhere between 16-18 inches.
