The creation of this necklace started in my head while on vacation in Hawaii for our 10th anniversary. Everywhere I go I'm always looking about for the leaf that's just perfect or the twig that's shaped just so to bring home to cast in pure silver. The second I saw the jaunty shape of this leaf I knew it had to be a necklace! of course I got the "you're at it again" eye roll from John. Ha!
Bringing the leaf back was a dicy proposition. I was afraid I'd be stopped and the leaf confiscated and my husband (who's an airline pilot) would not even walk with me thru security! Now, I was stopped and questioned, "do you have any fruits or vegetables in your bag?" NOPE! And so, as soon as we were back, the long creation process began.
The fern leaf is recycled fine silver and the chain is sterling silver accented with tiny black freshwater pearls and an S hook clasp.
