A stunning dendritic agate with foliage patterns in grays and blacks with a touch of rust reminiscent of French Toile is adorned with a 14k gold bee, sterling silver bees and a dragonfly. The stone is set in a hand fabricated sterling silver setting and secured with 18k gold prongs. The back of the setting is intricately accented with a hand engraved dentritic pattern. The piece hangs from a perfectly portioned, blackened sterling silver cable chain accented with a hand fabricated 14k gold clasp.
Dendrites (Greek for plant-like) are inclusions that appear organic due to their plant like structure. Trace amounts of manganese and iron in solution from neighboring rock gain access to forming agate. The elements, after seeping thru fine surface fractures, crystallize inside the agate in branching fractal patterns creating these natural, rare gemstones.
Pendant measures: 1 1/2 inches x 1 1/4 inches not including the bale.
Chain length is currently 21 inches and can be shortened to your desired length upon request.
